Seafret
Seafret²
Life is short, but there are lots of beauty to be discovered during this
journey. And yet to be sure, there are some key elements that take an important
part on our way. Music is one of these essential elements.
Talking about music, I have to tell about Seafret. This is a duo that consisted by Jack Sedman (vocals) and
Harry Draper (guitar). These two people were from the United Kingdoms, ‘’Seafret’’
applies to the rolling mists that come in off the North Sea during summer where
they grew. Now living in London, the sea is what they miss the most. They first met in at an open mic
night around 2011, both of them had distinctly different levels of experience.
Though a few years younger, Harry Draper was an experienced local musician;
Jack Sedman, meanwhile, literally just discovered his voice.
Their songs give people a slight of peace that could calm
people’s heart while the lyrics truly curved the reality sides of life. Words were
like bricks, small and inconspicuous; Jack and Harry are the architect, they settled
the bricks and stabled them with the pure melody, forming architectures that make
people wanted to get closed to and feeling comfortable with. They are the magician,
too, they waved pieces of peacefulness into people’s heart throughout the melody.
Jack got a rough voice, he sounds like he had been through a long tough life and
had tasted all the bitters and sweets, which makes people easier to be stocked in
his voice. Harry got an excellent skill on playing the guitar, every chord he played
has a soul in it.
Life is good, but it would be wonderful when you filled it
up with music. Seafret is not only a small band, every single tune got their own
background. I love them, because of the peacefulness they gave me to separate apart
from city life and the courage to move on my journey.
